September 2018 Wrap Up

The month of Halloween is a day upon us! September was a great month of reading for me. 🙂  It was also the month launching The Return Cart podcast. I finished 8 books in September which totaled out to 2,789 pages.

Warriors: Into The Wild by Erin Hunter – A quick middle grade read about cats who are wild and hunt to survive. There are things like cat politics, battles, and hard choices. Full review can be found here.

Implanted by Lauren C. Teffeau – A cyberpunk novel that explores what happens when people are physically connected with their information and social media. Humanity is now under domes to protect people from the harsh environments around them. A full review can be found here.

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn – The book about horrible people being horrible to one another. It’s a mystery and thriller. A full review can be found here.

Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins – I listened to the audiobook and it was a thrilling read. It’s a mystery and it did feel there was a bit of a surprised twist at the end. At least for me. I’m rubbish with mysteries. I liked this book a lot.

Someone Else’s Fairytale by E. M. Tippetts – A chic lit story of drama and romance. First chic lit I can remember reading. I did a review here.

Bellwether by Connie Willis – A speculative fiction involving scientist research. It sounds like it shouldn’t be as entertaining as it was. However, I really liked this book. Connie Willis writes a funny narrative and characters which are relatable even if I’m not a scientist myself.

Daughter of Kali: Awakening by Shiulie Ghosh – A type of magical girl book where a teenager named Kaz finds out she has the ability to see monsters and more. I did a full review here.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan – I’ll be posting a full review tomorrow. I generally enjoyed this look into a plain Jane sort of girl getting thrust into the world of the super rich and super traditional. Kinda traditional? Almost traditional? Faux traditional? I don’t know but it was a cute story.

That’s my wrap up for September and tomorrow I’ll post up my October 2018 TBR. 🙂

Hope you get lost in a book,

Chrissy
