Writer Wednesday: 5 ways I choose a plot.

I’m sure you’re wondering how I choose the plot of my book. You know, the one I haven’t told anyone the plot of yet. Lo and behold, dear wanderer, your wishes have been heard! Here are five ways I chose the plot I’m currently reading. And I know, you may be thinking “Chrissy, how are there five ways to choose one plot?” but shhhh, it’s fine. It’s fine. Here’s the list!

  1. Darts! You write down a whole lot of plot points. Things like “Awkward encounter with villain in a coffee shop” and “The superpower of reading while running on a treadmill” are posted on a board and darts are thus thrown!
Like so.

   2. Wheel of plots!  This, dear wanderer, is for the big plot. Things like “REVOLUTION” and “MAGICAL BOUNTY HUNTER GOES ON A BLIND DATE”.

Much like my own options, I don’t understand half of the wheel.

   3. Shower Thoughts! They say the best ideas come to you when you are lathering up. Now, if only I could pause singing and dancing long enough to think my plots through…

“Can’t stop me nooooooow! I’m having such a good time!”

   4. People watching. That little granny pushing the shopping cart? She’s probably the leader of an underground crime ring.

I’d like to think I wouldn’t be as obvious but…here we are.

   5. Staring Into The Void. The void sometimes has great ideas.

Tell me your secrets.

And there it is! My list of how I choose my plot. 🙂

Hope you enjoyed! May you get lost in a book.

Chrissy
